The 19th annual Blue Hill Pops Concert will be held on Friday evening, July 3 beginning at 730 pm at George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill. Sponsored by the Bagaduce Music Lending Library, this annual concert will feature Flash in the Pans Steel Band, the New Trad Trio, accordionist Gena Churchill, violinists Trond Saeverud and Kelsey Hudson, the Pops Jazz Trio, and the Bagaduce Pops Singers under the direction of Bronwyn Kortge. Enjoy a traditional lobster bake on beautiful Cow Island when you join Portland Schooner Company and Rippleffect, a local nonprofit, for an unforgettable experience. Your mid-morning sail on Bagheera or Wendameen takes you to scenic Cow Island where you will partake in a delicious lobster bake. Feast on locally harvested lobster and mussels, and scrumptious salads and side dishes. While sitting in the shade of an oak grove on a beautiful bluff, enjoy a magnificent view of the water. Return to the mainland in the afternoon refreshed, enlightened, and enriched for this quintessential Maine experience. 1000 AM to 200 PM. Price is $105 per adult. Children 12 and under eating hot dogs and hamburgers are $55 ($67 if eating lobster). All children under 3 are $25. Non-lobster and vegetarian options are available for adults.

Experience the brilliant fireworks from a waterside view in Casco Bay Harbor. Enjoy freshly baked homemade pies with coffee and tea. Sails will be dropped shortly before the show begins as both vessels anchor side-by-side in the harbor. The sail departs at 815 PM, returning at 1015 PM. Payment in advance is required as this popular event sells out quickly. Tickets are $55 per person. Guests are always welcome to bring beer or wine aboard.

PORTopera’s Maine’s Emerging Artists (MEA) Program will present six productions of Domenico Cimarosa’s “The Secret Marriage” at various locations throughout Southern Maine and New Hampshire, between June 25 and July 12. While originally written as a two-act opera to be sung in Italian, PORTopera will present an abbreviated version (about 90 minutes) sung in English.
