MS Society of Maine
The Maine Chapter of the MS Society was founded in June of 1954 and is dedicated to ending the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis, a chronic degenerative disease of the central nervous system where the body's own immune system destroys the Myelin sheath surrounding an individual's brain and spinal cord. Affecting over 400,000 Americans and 2.5 million people worldwide, MS is the most frequent cause of neurological disability beginning in early to middle adulthood. Time Warner Cable (TWC) is proud to partner with the MS Society of Maine on a number of different initiatives including their annual “Power Walks” program, the “MS Bike to the Breakwater,” and their annual MS Plane Pull competition.
