Pets of the Week

Homie
Homie

Lewiston - One year old male.

I am a very social, vocal man looking to be entertained as well as show off my stuff too! I won't share my extensive list of talents. We'll work into that slowly, but I am a sure bet to make any home look good. I did not enjoy my medical testing so it is needless to say i will not enjoy trips to the vet. I find needles scary, but I do my best to be a big, brave boy.

I hiss at other cats, but this may be just to intimidate. Dogs are not at the top of my "cool" list either, but I am quick to adjust to new situations.

Whistle
Whistle

Kennebunk - This beautiful girl is Whistle! She is a 3-year-old, spayed female who has a beautiful, medium length, white coat. She may require a bit of grooming just to keep her coat beautiful and mat free. Brushing your new cat is a great way for the two of you to bond. Whistle would love nothing more than to go to her forever home. Come down and check this beautiful girl out. Whistle could be the perfect match for you!

Sable Sable - Westbrook Sable, a pretty 6-year-old Husky/Collie mix, has had quite a journey over the past month. She was adopted from another shelter, got loose 10 days later, and was brought to us as a stray. When we called her owner he opted not to come and get her, so here she remains, hoping we will soon find her a permanent home and some long-awaited stability. As her breed mix would indicate, this girl is a study in contrasts -- aloof with people and other animals but barky in the kennel, playful but oblivious to toys, energetic but well mannered. She worries when left alone, and panics if crated. Sable does not enjoy intrusions on her food bowl. She hasn’t acted on her concern, but a home without children would be best. This Meet Your Match™ orange “Busy Bee” is one smart cookie. She is focused and learns quickly, and already knows the commands sit, down, come, and paw, while our volunteer dog walkers describe Sable’s leash manners as stellar. We are now offering new adopters a discounted rate for the “Manners For Dogs” series of classes, and this refresher course would help Sable and her new people have fun while developing a bond. Sable’s stunning long coat will require frequent attention. If you enjoy grooming a beautiful dog (or having her groomed), teaching more manners and tricks to a very quick study, and going for walks with a fine canine companion, Sable will come through for you in every respect.
