Middle School Winner - Autumn MacFarlane

“My name is Autumn Macfarlane my fathers name is Lloyd MacFarlane, I am one of 7 siblings and I am writing this essay because I think my father deserves to be named top pop. There are many reasons why he deserves this award. One of my many reasons is that in 2004 my mother passed away in a tragic car accident and my father stood by us and took care of us. Another reason is that my father got hurt at work shattering his heel into 16 pieces and cant work any more but does all that he can to make sure that we are as happy and healthy as we should be. My last reason is that no matter how much heartache is dished out he just takes it and stands with his head held high.

The most important reason I have for believing that my father deserves this award is that when my mom passed away he took in all 7 of us without even thinking twice and not taking into consideration that only 3 of us were his kids. He has such a big heart and loves us all equally and any kid that has him by their side is the luckiest kid alive. Whenever I am upset about my mom he reassures me that everything is going to be ok and that my mother is happy and looking over me at all times, if it weren't for my dad I don't know where I would be in life right now he's always made sure I was following the right path and making the right decisions in life.
