Run by Platform Shoes Forum , Zoey's Room is a national, award-winning, online community for girls ages 9-14 to encourage their creativity through science, technology, engineering & math (STEM).

This moderated cyber community is the only STEM website for middle school girls featuring a multicultural character "Zoey." Launched nationally in 2005, Zoey's Room continues to expand, with 24 after-school clubs and more than 800 members across the nation.

Internet safety is the number one priority for Zoey's Room, and they have partnered with IDology, Inc. to ensure all adults who register a girl for an account are subject to an identity verification.

According to numerous studies, girls who enter middle school start to lose interest in the hard skills of STEM subjects. If this trend continues, not only does it seriously cripple the potential financial earning power of young women, but as more jobs in the future demand technological proficiency, it serves as a detriment to the nation's intellectual resource pool. For this reason, Zoey's Room strives to re-engage girls in STEM subjects with a safe, girl-friendly community.
